Coi Coi-Vilu or Caicai-Vilu (of the language mapudungun Kaykayfilu: Kaykay, filu="snake") is the god of Water (or goddess in some versions of Chiloé); and the origin of all that inhabits it and is the enemy of terrestrial life, animal and vegetal according to myths Mapuche and later of Chiloé. This snake was a key player in the Origin Of The Chiloean Archipelago. In mapuche mythology, Coi Coi-Vilu is son of Peripillán (a pillán spirit).
