INDIGGO is comprised of the identical twin sisters Mihaela and Gabriela Modorcea. Together they are professional singers, actors and writers. They live in New York where they continue their music activity started in Europe, especially in Germany and Romania.

Overview

  • Since they were 15 years old, they have been unceasingly writing songs that have a distinctive and unconventional sound as they blend a modern, eccentric American groove with classic influences and old traditional elements form their native country. Their work has been highly appreciated by American and European audiences, top executives of record labels, top music producers and respected professionals in the entertainment industry.
  • Mihaela and Gabriela were introduced to music at the very early age of 6, taking piano, canto, dancing lessons ever since then. Indiggo made their debut at the age of 12, on a blissful Christmas Eve, at the Romanian National Television TVR and Radio station with the carol “Colinde, colinde” written by Mihai Eminescu, Romania’s greatest poet.
  • The twins graduated acting with the best degree from the renowned National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography of Bucharest UNATC. Following which they also attended acting courses in Cologne Germany and in New York with acclaimed American actor Paul Sorvino. Mihaela and Gabriela speak English, French, German and Romanian and can sing in 7 different languages. The United States recognized their fantastic potential and awarded Mihaela and Gabriela the visa for "Extraordinary Artistic Abilities".
  • Not limited to just the stage, Mihaela recently released her first volume of poetry entitled “Rage & Love”–“Furie si Iubire” partly translated in English by her twin sister Gabriela. Experts in critiques have noticed that Furie si Iubire/“Rage&Love” - Mihaela Modorcea’s book constitutes a novelty in the field of the national and international poetry. Together Indiggo live in Manhattan, New York and are currently working on their to-be-released album in America.

IN THE UNITED STATES

The twins have been recently featured on NBC’s America's Got Talent; they reached the semi-finals of the TV show: [1] Additionally, Indiggo appeared on The Tyra Banks/Channel 9 and The Happy Hour/ FOX Business.

Mihaela and Gabriela have gained popularity performing in front of highly receptive audiences in top rated clubs/theatres/entertainment venues in NY such as the The Cutting Room, Crash Mansion, the legendary theatre and modern take on the old-fashioned supper club The BOX, as well as the legendary China Club, Club Midway, The Knitting Factory, Birdland, Opia, Sugarbar, Mean Fiddler, 169 Bar and more.

IN EUROPE

ACTING

Mihaela and Gabriela Modorcea played the leading roles in 3 musicals:

  • “Henriette” and “Louise” in the musical parody "The Two Orphans" at the prestigious “Casandra” theatre from Bucharest, musical which was awarded “The Best Play 2006” in Romania
  • “Roberta1” and “Roberta 2” in “The Future is in Eggs” by Eugene Ionescu directed by the one of the most acclaimed Romanian directors–Mihai Maniutiu
  • The Twin Tours in the musical “America Alive” at the National Theatre of Bucharest, directed by the renowned Romanian director Alexa Visarion, a show in the memory of the tragic events from Sept 11th 2001).

The twins have taken part in several workshops with directors Roman Polanski, Francis Ford Coppola, Krzysztof Zanussi, Andrei Serban, David Esrig, R. Brunel, etc

  • After having seen them playing the lead parts in the award winning ”The Two Orphans”, the greatest living Romanian playwright Dumitru Radu Popescu, award-winning writer, wrote them a play entitled “Two Sisters”, published in the theatre volume “Domnul Fluture si Doamna Fluture”, publishing house – “Editura Muzeul Literaturii Romane”, Bucharest 2006.
  • Mihaela and Gabriela have just finished filming in the American-Russian feature “No Love in the City”, which is to appear in 2009, directed by Marius Balchunas.
  • Gabriela Modorcea was featured as Taj’s Sister (the sister of the leading character) in the American-English movie Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj, produced by Robert L. Levy, director Mort Nathan.

Indiggo performed in the Dell computer advertisings. They were also featured in the NY Knicks 2008 promos that aired on the Madison Square Garden TV channel during this year’s controversial season following which they were hired by the producers and advertising agency for MSG TV to also write and sing the jingle for the NY Knicks. Mihaela and Gabriela were also featured as actresses in the music video ”Besame Mucho” of the Oscar nominated American actor Danny Aiello featuring the artist and music producer Hasan as well as in the most recent music video clip “Nobody Nose” of the famous artists/music producers The Neptunes’, respectively Pharrell Williams, Grammy awarded music producer, and Chad Hugo alongside with the American actress Lindsay Lohan and the iconic music producer/rapper Kanye West, winner of 9 Grammy awards.
