Mélanie Pain

Mélanie Pain is a French singer from Caen. She became famous after she started singing in the band Nouvelle Vague.

She studied political sciences in Aix-en-Provence and then moved to Paris to work in a web agency, and then in a design agency. She sings in French and English. Her influences include The Pixies, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey and Nick Drake.

In September 2009, she released her first solo album, My Name on which she sings along with Julien Doré, Phoebe Killdeer, Villeneuve or Thomas Dybdahl.
