Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. You appear to have a conflict of interest in editing Rami Bar-Niv and Fingering or articles pointing to them. Please consider the policies and reply here if you thing this is incorrect. Dear Barniv,
In addition to soapboxing, you appear to have a second account, User:Magazine1212, whose sole activity on Wikipedia so far has been to edit articles about you or related to you. This is called sockpuppetry, and is strictly forbidden by Wikipedia policy. I am surmising that Magazine1212 and Barniv are the same or related people by the commonality of interest; however, Wikipedia does have methods for identifying sockpuppets, and, should such an investigation take place and confirm my suspicions, both these accounts would be banned permanently from editing the Wikipedia.
I advise you to cease immediately from all editing involving Rami Bar-Niv, because of the danger of conflict of interest, and undertake the editing of other articles. I am guessing that you have a wide knowledge of classical music and piano playing, and any constructive, well-documented contributions in these areas would be welcome.
Regards,

Dear Bmusician, Ariconte and Ravpapa,
Thank you for your messages and welcome note.
Someone unrelated to me apparently Joseph10741 decided to create a page about me: Rami Bar-Niv.
Magazine1212, who is not me, but knows a lot about me, also got involved.
In the process both of them contacted me for verifying and acquiring additional and correct information about me.
The information I gave them got mixed up and was delivered on the page in a non-orderly manner.
That's when they suggested that I do some editing by myself, as not only I am alive and the main source of information, but I am also knowledgeable about the subject of music, piano, concerts, etc.
I did not realize that I am not allowed to edit a page about me, or add my name and my work where it is missing and should be added. If that's the (clear) case, I won't make any new edits that have to do with information about me.
TY,

Hello Mr. Bar-Niv:

You are apparently being frustrated by the actions of other users to you, such as User:Ravpapa's. I understand this frustration, I have been there.

  • About COI. Just because you have a conflict of interest doesn't mean you're forbidden to edit articles related to you, you just need to exercise great caution while doing so. If there is blatant misinformation on your page, remove it quick! All articles about living people must conform to WP:BLP.
  • I do not agree with the fact that you are connected with any of the accounts listed at the Sockpuppet investigation. Unfortunately another user thought you were using those accounts and filed a report. If you did not operate any other accounts then nothing can happen to you!

I also want to compliment you. This has something to do with your pianism. Your interpretation of the Mozart sonata K332 and Chopin Heroic Polonaise (which is my favorite Chopin piece) on YouTube is among one of the best I've heard. Of course, flawless, making very few mistakes, but also you played with great passion and emotion, which is required of Chopin. I am a professional musician myself, and it is a fact that you are one of the leading Israeli pianists in the world.

Best regards, Bmusician 14:46, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to Bmusician Thank you for your good words re my pianism. Not only there is "blatant misinformation" on my page, it is completely destroyed now by this User:Ravpapa. Perhaps you would care to check the previous versions of the page before User:Ravpapa destroyed it and do your own edited version of the page. Please see also my recent talk on the Rami Bar-Niv Talk page. thanks again for your encouragement. Rami Barniv (talk) 15:25, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
