Titewhai Harawira is Māori activist and the mother of a New Zealand politician Hone Harawira[1]. She is of Ngāpuhi descent. Harawira often escorted former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark around Waitangi during Waitangi celebrations. [2]
