Wikipedia:Lyrics and poetry

Unlike Everything2, Wikipedia does not take lyrics submissions for two reasons:

  1. most songwriters have not released their lyrics under an open content license,
  2. Wikipedia isn't designed to mirror primary sources.

The exception to the above statement involves national anthems. If you know the lyrics to a national anthem, putting them on the proper page will be good.
