Pronunciation?

Difficult to find a source on the pronunciation. Common sense would be "kuh-nook" - as the Domesday and Dutch would read - but English is so bastardised that we could've easily dropped the initial K as well.

Wiltshire Live believe it's silent - https://www.wiltshirelive.co.uk/news/wiltshire-news/weirdest-22-place-names-wiltshire-5656899 - but I really hate using any Reach product as a source, and this is a largely passing mention. Any ideas? Couruu (talk) 13:54, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
