One of the neat things about Wikipedia is in the differences between the various language versions. It illustrates that a lot of knowledge and many ideas are siloed to a certain extent by the languages in which they are primarily recorded. I find this semi-permable boundary of culture fascinating. There is a tension in the way culture and geography are the substrate for the development of particular ideas and then also mitigate the proliferation of them.

I am a student of the French language. I would like to improve both my understanding of that language as well as the quality of the English language Wikipedia. I don't wish to end cultural difference, after all new ideas emerge necessarily from difference, but I seek to make those boundaries more permiable so that we may learn better from one another.
