The 154th Separate Mechanized Brigade (Ukrainian: 154 окрема механізована бригада, romanized154 okrema mekhanizovana bryhada) is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.[1] The brigade was announced alongside the 150th, 151st, 152nd, and 153rd Mechanized Brigades in October 2023. [1][2]

History[edit]

The 154th Mechanized Brigade was formed in October 2023. Like the 150th, 151st, 152nd, and 153rd Mechanized Brigades, the unit is expected to participate in combat actions in the following year, as well as the anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2024.[4] An article by Forbes stated that it was unclear what vehicles the brigade might operate. But a video that the Ukrainian defense ministry posted on 12 December 2023 hints that the 154th Mechanized Brigade will be operating older T-62 tanks.[5]
