NBA professional basketball team season
The 1987–88 season was the 18th season of the Portland Trail Blazers in the National Basketball Association (NBA).[ 1] The Blazers finished 53–29, fourth in the Western Conference, qualifying for the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. It was a four-game improvement over the previous season. In the 1988 NBA Playoffs , the Blazers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the third straight year, this time falling to the Utah Jazz three games to one in the best-of-five series.
Kevin Duckworth averaged 15.8 points per game and was named Most Improved Player of The Year, while Clyde Drexler was selected for the 1988 NBA All-Star Game . Steve Johnson was also selected, but did not play due to injury.
