Fair use rationale for Image:Indian Summer (album).jpg

[edit]

Image:Indian Summer (album).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fair use of images

[edit]

I have been doing my best to restore the use of the cover images by providing fair use rationales, but I'm not an expert at it. I believe I need additional fair use rationales to justify the use of the covers on this page. If anyone has any experience with this, I would appreciate help before anything is deleted. Realised i should note...

[edit]

I just realised that a few weeks ago i accidentally edited this article from my primary account after having contributed from my secondary account in the past. I wasn't paying attention to which account was logged in at the time. User:Jh0367 (secondary) and User:Deliriousandlost (primary) are both my accounts. As i am a frequent contributor to this article of late and meant no harm i thought it best to note this before any issue might arise. jh0367TALK 08:42, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

leaving Vanguard ?

[edit]

For the time being i have removed the mention of the band leaving Vanguard Records, which apparently was announced on 20 March 2010 in a concert. As of Sunday evening, 21 March the Vanguard Records website still lists Carbon Leaf as a signed act and i can find no mention of this on the band's website or forums. I can't even find mention of a CL concert taking place on the 20th but with the way they tour there likely was one. If this is true then perhaps this is a case of waiting 'til after the weekend for things to be updated. For something of this magnitude a reference is really a necessity in my opinion. delirious & lost~hugs~ 02:46, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to a fellow fan posting it on the CL forum [1] i cited the band leaving Vanguard to the radio interview.
I also cleaned up the references so that i think all of them now have a uniform style of recording the access date. Thank you to 67.166.175.126 for the breaking news and i hope you don't mind that i removed it pending a citable source. delirious & lost~hugs~ 20:29, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

At this point, more than four years later, I don't think the decision to leave Vanguard belongs in the lede. Frank Lynch (talk) 03:34, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How the West was One

[edit]

The name of their new album has been released. It went on preorder earlier thus week with a digital download of the seven songs that are on the album. Whether more are on the album or not has not been said. How should this info be added, should their just be a new section for their independent years that mentions the album, or should I go ahead and make a page for the album itself? 69.251.92.84 (talk) 03:29, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I so want to create the new article too. I did find a few mentions of the article. The album articles are all really sparse. I would suggest main article mention until you at least have as much info as NRWW has. Ummm in looking into it before saving this note, users editing via IP address are not able at this time to create articles without going through Articles for Creation. I am going to create it at How the West was One (Carbon Leaf album) and when i have enough to be at least a solid "stub class" article i will save it. It might be a few hours but still faster than AFC would be. There is already a rap album by someone else at How the West was One so i will also have to tweak the disambiguation. Once i save the stub feel free to expand on it. delirious & lost~hugs~ 06:02, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is a stub class article now for HTTWO. Feel free to expand on it. As to the main article it is in the discography (no charting yet). There is the nice interview from the Seattle radio station 103.7 the mountain that contains mention of this being the first in a series of releases to come in the next 12 months, November and April 2011 are the plan. However i am having no luck tracking down the actual mp3 file of the radio show to use it to cite a segment in the main article on this. You could start a new section for the "Again indie" years but at the one sentence i have that is referenced it is very short and for now not being included because i can't find a practical way to work it into the article. delirious & lost~hugs~ 08:27, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
