Number of issues

Denis Gifford's calculations on many titles (which are the base for the numbers available basically everywhere) unfortunately seem to be... guesstimates. Most do not seem to take industrial action; while uncommon before WW2, in 1947 a dispute led to most titles releasing an issue with multiple numbers on the cover. So just because the last issue had was #3006 it does not follow that there were 3006 issues. Obviously this is primary research, but I feel we need to play it down and avoid adding further misinformation. BoomboxTestarossa (talk) 21:50, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
