"North America"

[edit]

The section "Harbor Seals in North America" is about the US. It mentions the Canadian coasts only tangentially, and does not mention Mexico whatsoever. There are 100 000 harbour seals on the BC coast and 20-30k in the Atlantic provinces. - http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/species-especes/profiles-profils/harbour-seal-phoque-commun-eng.html

Harbor seals also exist in lower numbers along Baja California. - https://aquaticmammalsjournal.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1560:the-pacific-harbor-seal-s-phoca-vitulina-richardii-breeding-colonies-in-mexico-abundance-and-distribution&catid=158&Itemid=326

It seems appropriate to either change the name to "Harbor Seals in the US" or add relevant information for Canada and Mexico. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apex Editor (talkcontribs) 14:54, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Very interesting subject Datijzmasder (talk) 09:54, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What are they collectively known as?

[edit]

I've seen a lot of articles written about animals and many have their proper collective noun, but this one is missing. I've no idea (that's how I got here) but just a suggestion if someone wants to throw it in.

The collective noun used for seals is "pod" although it is not used very often. Wevets (talk) 06:39, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

status outside America, cf. Europe++

[edit]

We should include information about status in the eastern Atlantic and elsewhere. I could provide information, but I would need help with references jw (talk) 12:26, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Where would you get the information? CMD (talk) 12:46, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
