NPOV

[edit]

NPOV - This whole article reads like an advertisement. "the film is both thrilling and romantic"? It hasn't been released yet... --205.196.147.137 06:55, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to a note on IMDB, Beethoven was more thoroughly deaf than the film portrays, and had declined to do public performances for years before composing the Ninth Symphony. -- WillWare 18:15, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Totally Deaf?

[edit]

It was my understanding that Beethoven retained some residual hearing in one ear. I will try to find sources. Could others do likewise? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Beetfarm Louie (talkcontribs) 20:41, 25 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

weelll, this is a holywood movie guys not a reinactment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.221.96.202 (talk) 03:21, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Artistic license

[edit]

Lipreading? "It can be argued" - according to whom?

The article says: "It can be argued, however, that he was also able to read people's lips, evidenced by his insistence that people face him when they spoke to him."

I have rather good hearing, but have often problems hearing people who talk not facing me. Any other evidence? 62.20.231.135 (talk) 10:35, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image:CopyingbeethovenNEW.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
