Trans ban "Despite no documented instances of it ever occurring"

[edit]

An anonymous editor, with the nondescript "Included info on other activities during 2021 legislative session", added a comment about Birkeland's trans-ban bill, along with the blatant weasel-language "despite the lack of any such cases" i.e. of any trans girls in Utah wanting to play sports, which was weasled further (without any use of the source given) into "despite no documented instances of it ever occurring".

The AP did not report that trans girls don't exist in Utah, the closest thing in the article is just a quote from Troy Williams. Troy Williams is not a credible source on the existence of trans girls in Utah, or whether they want to play sports, any more than Ahmadinejad claiming that gay people don't exist in Iran. Indeed, the AP has reported that at least four trans girls have gone through eligibility process in Utah: https://apnews.com/article/sports-gender-identity-utah-youth-sports-20cbbe668532d686e2b3c0a1ff46c807 so Troy William's claim that no trans girls want to play sports in Utah is blatantly false. Please avoid putting bizarre and false peacock language in a biography of a living person, or any article.

I propose that this article be protected, as Birkeland's legislation is back in the news with Cox promising a veto.
