The dates in this article are really, really off. Look, for example, at David Beckham. He did not play for Real Madrid in 1963!

Players from RM site (legend)

[edit]

Is it possible to add all players who are in Real Madrid legend, note that most of them have played a few games because of lack of matches in that period?.--KSAconnect 23:43, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think not, because Felix Quesada played in the 20s and made over 200 appearances. If you watch List of Manchester United F.C. players you can see players who made over 100 apps even in the 1890s. What I think we should do is to add Santiago Bernabeu Yeste, who is really important for Real Madrid. And a suggestion for you, if you like to help, try to make articles for red-linked players. Hadrianos1990 07:44, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
But in List of Liverpool F.C. players, their some players are including with less than 100 appearances, also at that time in Spain, there was only one official tournament (Copa del Rey) until the beginning of the league in 1929.--KSAconnect 08:19, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's perfectly okay to add players who are officially recognized as legends Sandman888 (talk) 17:11, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

Which source are theese stats based on? From the Hungarian page as far as I can see, but maybe bdfutbol.com or leyendoblanco.es is better? Sandman888 (talk) 17:11, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great Madrid C.F. players before of the Great War

[edit]

Beyond the brothers Aranguren and the mythical S. Bernabeu, there are other great players before of the WWI. It is absolutely absurd to forget these great players of the first great Madrid F.C. : the legendary Manuel Prast, Pedro Parages, A. Neyra, A. Giralt, M. Bernabeu, Revuelto and Saura !!! Also this is history. 151.75.123.180 (talk) 19:59, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is it a shame that in the list of the great players of Real Madrid there aren't these historical players. To put in this list AT LEAST the great MANUEL PRAST ( this is the player that scored the goal of the victory of the first national trophy in the history of the club and that scored many other important goals in his career with real Madrid by 1904 to 1915) !!!. http://tdifh.blogspot.it/2010/04/18-april-1905-madrid-starts-cup.html 151.75.97.45 (talk) 16:53, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When will be put MANUEL PRAST in this list ? He wons 4 Copa del Rey ( 1905, 1906, 1907 and 1908 ) and scored in the 3 finals ( 1905, 1906 -2 goals- and 1907 ). He wons also 5 Madrid Championships. Even in this site he is the first of this list : http://www.blogdomadridista.com/2009/07/jogadores-historicos-do-real-madrid.html 151.75.24.79 (talk) 16:11, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Add player

[edit]

Rafael van der Vaart is missing from this list. He has 58 appearances, playing at Real Madrid for 2 years (2008-2010)

RESEPCT FOR THE HISTORY !!!

[edit]

Pedro Parages, Federico Revuelto, Antonio Neyra, Armando Giralt and above all MANUEL PRAST deserve absolutely a place in this list. If Real has become the best club in the world the deserve is also of these first players ( they won the first Spanish Cups and the Regional Cups ) !!! I hope that Wiki isn't becoming a dictatorship !!!! Also the first decade has been very important for this mythical club.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.75.79.213 (talk) 20:30, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pedro Gandarias?

[edit]

I don't think so called player Pedro Gandarias belong to the list. I would say that's some kind of fraud. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Isnar (talkcontribs) 08:46, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't Pachin be listed as a defender, not a forward?

[edit]

On his personal page, Pachín is described as a versatile defender. On this page he is listed as a forward, which makes him look inept, since he only scored 2 goals in nearly 10 years. Shouldn't this be changed? I'll do it myself, but I don't know the sources to check that this is indeed a mistake. -- Presearch (talk)

Real Madrid Official List Updated

[edit]

It seems that over the past few weeks, the Real Madrid Legends List has added many players that didn't figure before. Academy players, players that have played less than 10 games, etc. Do you think we should add them? And if so, wouldn't it be wise to have 3 lists in total? One for players with +50 apps (and the really important ones of the early days), one for players with -50 apps, and the captains list? That way this Wiki page can distinguish between actual legends/historically important players and those who briefly appeared. The main list could even be +100 apps such as the lists from other clubs... User:Cisco styleconnect 17:08, 03 June 2024 (CET)

[edit]

Hello everyone, Real Madrid is undoubtedly the best club in the history of football. A club as prestigious as Real Madrid deserves a list of all the players who have played for it since its founding (similar to the List of Paris Saint-Germain F.C. players page). I want to create the list anew, including all players who have played at least one official match. It will be divided into different pages based on the number of matches due to the large number of players. Are there any suggestions? --Mishary94 (talk) 11:59, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I had put a post up earlier on here but in the wrong position. It is now above yours. I do agree with you especially as the official Real Madrid website no longer has a dedicated "legends" page but now a general section for all past players, even those with only 1 appearance! I think this page can be edited to contain those with 50+ games and then create other with 25-49 and 1-24 appearances. Cisco style (talk) 12:20, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry, I didn't notice your discussion. Yes, I totally agree that we should divide the article into separate articles based on the number of contributions. I will do it soon. --Mishary94 (talk) 12:56, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done I have added all the players who participated in at least one match, with their number exceeding 770 players throughout history. I preferred to add them in one table instead of dividing them into multiple tables for formatting purposes and easier access for the reader. I manually transferred player by player over 25 days, with proofreading that lasted tens of hours. If anyone notices any mistakes, please help me correct them. If anyone has any suggestions, please share them here. Thank you. --Mishary94 (talk) 04:16, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing! What an awesome job you have done. I'll help keeping it organised too and will go over it to check on any issues (if any). I do suggest however, that it gets divided into sections so as to not have to scroll endlessly. This will also allow people to see a player's success at the club. I suggest 4 groups for apps in the following order: 1-24, 25-49, 50-99, 100+. With 100+ list being first obviously. Let me know if you agree of have any suggestions. Cisco style (talk) 13:30, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. In my opinion, I don't support dividing the article into sections, at least for now. Perhaps if the list reaches 1,000 players, it could be divided then. I believe that having a single article is better in terms of organization and makes it easier to sort and browse. For example, a reader can filter all Argentine players who played for Real Madrid or count the number of goalkeepers who played for Real Madrid. But if it were divided, it wouldn't be as easy to do that. In any case, I don't have an issue with either option. Mishary94 (talk) 06:31, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
