Extensive Revision
[edit]I declare a conflict--I am the Director of Communications at METCO, Inc. In my role I have spent a few months researching the history of the program as well as clearing up misconceptions for the public. I've decided to be bold and contribute to this page. I'm grateful to you for reviewing and correcting my errors in content as well as form. My goal is primarily to provide clearer and more detailed summaries of METCO's structure and history. I have also added a list of notable alumni, though I'm not sure how to source that.
I definitely want to draw your attention to the things I deleted in the Challenges & Controversies section, not because I disagree with them but because I don't think they accurately represent the actual controversies. Assertions about lack of accountability, ageism, and district eligibility were supported by single articles or letters to the editor, some of which contained relevant data but did not support a claim of controversy (that is, a meaningful minority of people are making a given claim). I realize that an employee deleting controversy claims puts up red flags! There is plenty of controversy around METCO and I want it to be accurately presented. Probably a job for another editor.
I appreciate the opportunity to make these suggestions and I look forward to bringing attention to this unsung history. Stokescolin (talk) 17:52, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

NPOV Discussion
[edit]Gene93k, you flagged recent edits as violating NPOV. Can you please specify what part of these edits rather than a wholesale revision? The edits appeared factual and well sourced, and constitute a much needed upgrade of a stub article. I have thus reversed the edit. (Gsmith10 (talk) 17:28, 13 October 2011 (UTC))
