Statue in Mandalay

[edit]

Mandalay was for a long time the capital of Myanmar. I lived there from Oct. 1994 till May 1998. In August, 1993, I had a day trip to Mandalay and I noticed one statue on the royal Moab. I am not so sure if the statue was that of General Aung San. But when I got to Mandalay in 1994, the statue had already disappeared from the spot. Where is that statue now? Why did it disappear? Wasn't that statue a statue of a remarkable person in the country? By Dominic
