Add Montrezl's number announced by the Lakers today - number 15 Finlayhogan (talk) 10:27, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.—Bagumba (talk) 10:43, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW, Harrell is shown in a #15 Jersey on the Lakers’ roster page, though the number listed is #5. Rikster2 (talk) 12:55, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Luka Doncic racial slur

[edit]

I'm curious why this incident shouldn't be mentioned, given the mention of similar incidents in the careers of other pro athletes like Meyers Leonard, Justin Thomas, Mason Rudolph, Josh Allen, or Tony DeAngelo. Marcnelsonjr (talk) 20:26, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A key point is WP:NOTDIARY. In Harrell's case, it got a day or two of coverage, he apologized, and that seems to be the end. He didn't get suspended or fined, and sources haven't brought it up since. It doesn't seem WP:DUE to mention here.—Bagumba (talk) 06:57, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I came here looking for it after the Meyers Leonard incident. Leonard's treatment by the league is being compared to Harrell's:[1]

Then, during last season’s playoffs, former Los Angeles Clippers center Montrezl Harrell was overhead mocking the race of Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic, with the league deeming an apology from Harrell sufficient.

The fact that he wasn't officially disciplined is itself noteworthy, as the above article points out. Marcnelsonjr (talk) 16:42, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's a one-line mention among many other listed examples. Are there other similar sources that refer to him w/ Leonard?—Bagumba (talk) 02:29, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How many are necessary? Marcnelsonjr (talk) 05:11, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Enough to establish WP:DUE. It's up to WP:CONSENSUS.—Bagumba (talk) 05:35, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
