Assessment

[edit]

I've rerated this a C; while it does have good referencing, there is all too much plot summary going on and it lacks any suggestion of notability besides a single source. I won't be proposing any kind of merge due to this since I know that there has to be SOMETHING, but at this point I gotta lower it. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Premature aging

[edit]

The article says that the premature aging of Snake is because of FOXDIE, which is wrong, Naomi, explains to him in the second chapter (Solid Sun) that while the FOXDIE is still mutating and will kill him, the aging is because he was designed that way, with a short life span. Is correctly mentioned in the MGS4 article, so i`ll change it here. Zidane tribal (talk) 00:03, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References for reception

[edit]

Anyone want to try adding that? Make sure you use discretion, of course; try not to have a bunch of people restating the same sentiment too much. I can only say that reception exists in these references. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 10:41, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gulf War

[edit]

Why is it that the Fictional Gulf War veterans category was removed? Metal Gear Solid explicitly states that Snake fought in the Gulf War. Smijes08 talk, 1:29, February 4, 2011

Because to Wikipedia the list isn't large enough to be worth noting. XxXenternamehereXxX (talk) 23:04, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Height

[edit]

The article mentions that Snake's height keeps changing, but it only did so once. The official documentation says 178cm in MG2, then 182cm in MGS1. He's still 182cm in MGS4, so this appears to be his height throughout the MGS series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.183.201.133 (talk) 17:49, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll check through my gaming book collection to see if I can find anything about this. Halo Jerk1 (talk) 16:31, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

This watercolor in the infobox is a particularly terrible picture of him. Is it possible to get it changed? kaixokkiten 20:08, 2 March 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaixokkiten (talkcontribs)

Found this in the Metal Gear wikia. I guess we first need permition to use it or find to where it originally belongs.Tintor2 (talk) 20:19, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The actual image is the original design by Yoji Shinkawa for Metal Gear Solid, the one the use in the wikia is the Shinkawa design for Sons of liberty, i think both belong inthe article. The Metal Gear Solid one is, in my opinion, the ideal for the infobox because it was the first look we had at the 3D snake. Zidane tribal (talk) 18:07, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see.Tintor2 (talk) 18:48, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Why is a piece of watercolour concept art being used at all? Surely the infobox would be better with an in-game screenshot – maybe from The Twin Snakes, since that would show a high-quality take on Snake's defining appearance. —Flax5 12:15, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Literary character?

[edit]

Since the article talks about Snake's role in the novelizations, would it be appropriate to categorize him as a character in literature? Maximajorian Viridio (talk) 00:46, 24 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
