Primary sources

[edit]

The sentence and source in question:

He attended high school at a school in Paris[1].

Please show me any policy or guideline which states that primary sources may not be used at all in any article. If you're having a difficult time doing that it's because there is no policy or guideline which states that. WP:PRIMARY doesn't state that; WP:BLP doesn't state that; WP:V doesn't state that; and WP:RS doesn't state that. What the policies and guidelines do state is that primary sources may not be used to establish notability, nor may they be used to interpret information (which would then make it original research). You keep removing this sentence and source even though it is not violating any policy or guideline, and even though it is perfectly acceptable use of a primary source according to those policies and guidelines. Your insistence otherwise is completely disingenuous and false. You need to go and read them again if you think your position is backed up by them. You are welcome to bring anyone else here to have them chime in on the topic, too. ···日本にっぽんみのる? · 投稿とうこう · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WikiProject Japan! 16:59, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I posted a request for people to come participate here on the WP:BLPN (that's where Hipocrite saw the notice). I also placed a link to this discussion on JBSupreme's talk page and on my talk page. ···日本にっぽんみのる? · 投稿とうこう · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WikiProject Japan! 17:29, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nihonjoe is obviously right. This is information sourced to the individual themselves, from a site the individual maintained. It is not infringing on their privacy at all, and it is not a non-trivial analysis. From WP:BLPN. Hipocrite (talk) 17:16, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
