The web page http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=117763 divulges a contrary view as to damage sustained by the building from Hurricane Alicia. Instead of the building design increasing the severity of damage, this page reads that the design actually lessened the severity of damage: "In 1983, Hurricane Alicia threw this all-glass skyscraper a somewhat ironic twist of fate, as the building suffered minimal facade damage in comparison to neighboring skyscrapers."
