U.S. state templates
[edit]Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. states/state templates lists and displays all 50 U.S. state (and additional other) templates. It potentially can be used for ideas and standardization. //MrD9 07:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Standardization of state templates
[edit]There is currently an ongoing discussion regarding standardization of state templates (primarily regarding layout and styling) at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. states/state templates. An effort was made earlier this year to standardize Canadian province templates (which mostly succeeded). Lovelac7 and I have already begun standardizing all state templates. If you have any concerns, they should be directed toward the discussion page for state template standardization. Thanks! — Webdinger BLAH | SZ 22:57, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Regions
[edit]Should Piney Woods and the Osage Plains be listed on this template under the state's regions? Both are actually ecoregions that overlap articles about actual geographical areas of the state. For instance, Osage Plains covers most of central oklahoma, northeastern oklahoma, south central, and even some of the northwestern - all of these areas already have articles. Also, Piney Woods overlaps much of southeastern oklahoma. Since these are ecoregions instead of geographical or social regions, I will remove these from the template unless there are objections within the next couple days. - I wouldn't include the Piney Woods as a region in Oklahoma. Locally I've never heard of the "piney woods" region of Oklahoma referred to as such, though Texas uses the term. Narthring (talk • contribs) 05:30, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Arbuckle Country
[edit]Arbuckle Country is the official designation for south central Oklahoma, as per the Oklahoma Department of Tourism. Although Lake Country and Lake & Trail country are more well known, both were previous names for the region, at least officially. While you could make a case for changing it to either of those, "south central Oklahoma" doesn't quite fit in the context of the other geologically-defined regions, e.g. "Ozarks", "Flint Hills", et. al. --Emersonbiggins85 03:58, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Green
[edit]Is there a particular reason why this template is green? Wouldn't it be better to just go with the default used by {{navbox}} to avoid having a rainbow at the bottom of the page when this navbox is next to another one and per WP:ACCESSIBILITY? Please let me know if there is a strong reason to have it a particular color. I noticed this was attempted recently, but was reverted, so I thought I would be proactive and start a thread here to avoid an edit war. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 21:35, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, it looks like there are no objections. I will make the change. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 17:08, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
