Welcome!

[edit]

Hello! I am a student at Rice University pursuing a major in Cognitive Science. I am interested in researching racial disparities and socioeconomic determinants in healthcare.

Interests

[edit]

My interests include working on the current page for the Prison Industrial Complex or the Race in the United States Criminal Justice System to improve the class and quality standard. I am considering the implementing changes by broadening the variety of primary sources used in hopes to address some of the generally biased information presented in the article. I also plan to restructure the content and order of the subsections, expand upon the history of private prisons in America, reference the effect that the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 had on mass incarceration rates, and include a subsection that focuses on the negative effects and implications of Prison-industrial complexes.
