The Ninetology Palette is an entry-level budget smart phone manufactured by Ninetology with dual SIM capabilites^[1]. It’s powered by a single core 832MHz processor and runs on the Android Gingerbread 2.3 Operating System ^[2].

The phone is available in three basic color options: Lime Green, Pink and White.

The Ninetology Palette I5300 was announced to public on the same day Ninetology had introduced its Smart Communication System in 2012 ^[3] ^[4].

Hardware[edit]

The Ninetology Palette I5300 has a dimension of 112mm X 59mm X 14.2mm and weighs 110grams. A single core 832MHz processor is used to power the device. It has a 3.0 inch capacitive screen display with a resolution of 240 X 320 that’s capable of displaying up to 262k colors^[5].

It possesses a 2.0 megapixel main camera with a LED flash feature, as well as a 0.3 megapixel secondary camera.

The main SIM card slot is visible once the back cover is removed and can be accessed by removing the battery pack. The second SIM Card slot is located right below the main SIM card slot. The battery possesses a capacity of Li-Ion 1500mAh^[6].

Additional storage is available via a MicroSD card socket, which is certified to support up to 32 GB of additional storage

The Ninetology Palette is running on the Android Gingerbread 2.3 Operating System and is preloaded with a variety of applications ^[7]:

According to Maxit.com.my[1], Ninetology's Palette i5300 which had sold 22,333 units in between two months is ranked number 10 among the top smart phone models sold ^[8] ^[9].

Corporate Social Responsibility Program: Smart Ecology[edit]

Ninetology had partnered with the Malaysian Nature Society(MNS) to introduce an ethical used mobile device recycling program called Smart Ecology using the Palette as a driving factor. Consumer were able to gain a rebate while purchasing Palettes when they trade in their old mobile devices. These old devices would then be delivered to MNS to be recycled using a “Green Chemical” recycling system. A percentage of Palette’s sales profits are then donated to MNS to fund their nature conservation activities^[10] ^[11].
