Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 70.44.223.30, has made edits to the page Mercury-Atlas 4 which do not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not already been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you did not make this change, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors. Logging in is not mandatory to read or edit pages on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have!

Some other good links for newcomers are:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Again, welcome! JustinTime55 (talk) 19:00, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please help by using more complete footnotes

By avoiding WP:BAREURLS, dead links, 404, wp:linkrot can be more easily remedied. You can use a wp:template such as template:cite web to aid in adding filling out references. There is also wp:twinkle which has aids. I think you would need to get an wp:account to use twinkle.

Question: There was an early launch vehicle which had a roundal target painted on the side. Have you heard of this? I remember seeing it on a vehicle being launched in the '60s, but have not been able to find an image. I know it's was not my imagination as I saw the guy responsible for its addition at a conference. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 05:35, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You need to cite sources for your edits

[edit]

Please bear in mind that such sweeping edits, esp citing quotes, are prone to be challenged on the basis of not providing reliable sources.Axxxion (talk) 18:26, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

British and American spellings

[edit]

Information icon In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to India, use Indian English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you.

Hello, and thank you for your recent contribution. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! —usernamekiran(talk) 18:16, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm NCWP. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Robvanvee 10:39, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
