E-mails

[edit]

You can use "Email this user", but I will probably reply on your talk page, or the article talk page, as discussions should be open and on the record.
I have experienced problems with e-mails not being delivered, so please leave me a message on this page if I have not replied within 48 hours.

Broadcasted

[edit]

The Wiktionary definition of Broadcasted states the use is sometimes proscribed, so it should not be used. The word also appears on Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/B

Broadcasted appears in some dictionaries, but others, e.g. Chambers state "Sorry, no entries for Broadcasted were found".
Broadcast appears in all dictionaries, and should be used as COMMONALITY - "Wikipedia tries to find words that are common to all varieties of English".

A May 2023 search for Broadcast gave over 234,000 uses, compared with a search for Broadcasted which gave just 99.
Of these, 16 are redirects to "Broadcast" articles, 14 refer to a 2015 Canadian TV award and 5 relate to a 1924 cartoon. The rest are in quotations.

Velile Tshabalala

[edit]

Hi, not sure how to use this probably but I was trying to update Velile Tshabalala's page to reflect her recent recurring role as Stella Clayton in EASTENDERS which is documented but you removed it? Why did you do that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.20.91.162 (talk) 16:37, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, please do not make additions at the top of the page, between 2 lines that clearly state "<!---♦♦♦ Please put new posts at the BOTTOM of the page and include a title set between double == signs ♦♦♦--->"
As for your question, all information added to Wikipedia needs WP:Reliable sources, your addition cited Fandom, which is NOT a reliable source, as is explained at WP:FANDOM. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 17:49, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there,
All it takes is a little bit of research to show that she is currently in Eastenders as Stella Clayton, please can you reinstate? Link to the Mirror article below which backs up what I had previously linked to.

[edit]

The insurgency Of nlft which I edited is based on true document but you deleted it RUBBERBLONG (talk) 18:28, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I deleted it, RUBBERBLONG, because you did not cite a reliable source, in a reference attached to your edit, so that future readers can check the information is true, as is required by WP:Burden - Arjayay (talk) 18:53, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The official website of Tripura police from where I collected information

https://tripurapolice.gov.in/PresentPhaseInsurgency RUBBERBLONG (talk) 18:31, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is no point in putting that here, RUBBERBLONG, you need to cite your sources in references attached to your edit, so that future readers can check the information is true, as is required by WP:Burden - Arjayay (talk) 18:56, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks MissAnonymous123, we WP:WikiGnomes spend our time with tiny corrections, but it is always nice to be appreciated - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 21:46, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's (contraction) > Its (possessive)

[edit]

Completely in agreement with you regarding the edit you did to Accessibility of transport in London – however it was a reference quote from here, so I've reverted your edit. Thanks again! Turini2 (talk) 21:27, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Turini2 thanks for your post - As per Wikipedia:Quotations#Formatting "Unexpected errors, imperfections and styles can be marked with "[sic]" .... Trivial spelling or typographical errors that do not affect the intended meaning may be silently corrected." I chose the second option, of "silently correcting", but as you don't like that, I have now added [sic] - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 21:36, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thanks for drawing my attention to that – best wishes to you too. Turini2 (talk) 21:38, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Vishal Bhardwaj singer Firstly, please use English so that everyone can understand what you are trying to say.
Secondly, as I have repeatedly explained in my edit summaries at Malavika (singer), you keep deleting references and referenced info + adding unsourced claims. You have now received 2 final warnings for this, if you continue, I will ask for you to be blocked. - Arjayay (talk) 12:24, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why do Igbos go about editting other people's history

[edit]

Mr why do you come to my towns page to edit the history of Onicha Olona. You obviously are not from Onicha Olona. So for what reason do you come on a page that doesnt concern you Austin Ruffdiamond (talk) 08:19, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Austin Ruffdiamond that is not how Wikipedia works.
Wikipedia is not interested in who you are, where you are from, what race/religion/community/caste you are, what you "know" or what you want an article to say.
Wikipedia is only interested in what has already been published in reliable, independent sources published by a body with a reputation for fact-checking - No blogs, no self-published sources, and no bodies with a conflict of interest.
These sources must be properly cited in order to support any information added to, or changed in our pages, so the information can be verified as true in the future.
The responsibility for providing citations is solely on whoever adds or changes any information, to provide references from reliable sources that support those additions or changes.
You are repeatedly failing to do this, which is why your edits have been, and will continue to be, reverted, until you do add proper references.
Please see Help:Referencing for beginners for the "how to" guide.
Furthermore, please do not make personal attacks, as you did in this edit, nor insult other ethnic groups, as you did in this edit. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 10:26, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
you are foolish.. and a slave descendant of a slave ancestry.
What concern you with people's history that isn't yours you this Igbo twart.
Don't worry it's going to be a war of edit propaganda. I shall make it my daily duty to go to every Igbo town page on Wikipedia and edit their page inserting derogatory words there Austin Ruffdiamond (talk) 11:35, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Object-oriented Fortran

[edit]

Dear Arjayay, It is not clear to me why yuu have pushed this article back into user space. The article does, indeed, have only one reference, but there are no others available for this relatively new subject. What more can be done? In this context, please note that the author of this article died tragically in June, and I am endeavouring to rescue his last major technical contribution from oblivion.

Please note, too, that an existing article with this title is merely an outdated and abandoned stub.

Thank you, Mr.Fortran (talk) 12:02, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Mr.Fortran, if you have only one reference, as "there are no others available for this relatively new subject" it is WP:Too soon for there to be a Wikipedia article on it. I'm sorry the author died, but Wikipedia is not a memorial site, and until it meets WP:42, i.e. significant coverage in in reliable sources (plural) that are independent of the topic, it does not meet the general notability guide so should stay as a draft. There were also formatting and other errors, these can be resolved once it meets the inclusion criteria. - Arjayay (talk) 15:02, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you...

[edit]

for looking in at Count Zero. Feel free to more deeply engage. I am not setting up shop, just trying to begin correcting the most egregious of issues. The most significant one—the cutting back of the "Characters" so that it is source-derived, and not a duplication/continuation of the "Plot" section, will take a registered editor to accomplish. Cheers. 73.72.207.246 (talk) 22:44, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
