June 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Gary Duncan, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:08, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

January 2024[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to I've Been Loving You Too Long, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Tkbrett (✉) 15:23, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to I've Been Loving You Too Long. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 19:38, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please define 'original research' If someone hasn't done original research how is anything discovered? Someone has cited the Cashbox interpretation (incorrect - just because it's Cashbox doesn't make it true) that the song is about a man losing his love for his partner. But the lyrics clearly demonstrate that this is not the case. I thought Wikipedia was about getting things right, and not about publishing false statements unless they are clearly identified as such. WP:OR explains everything. Tkbrett (✉) 19:53, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're not really answering my question. Why is the assertion in the Cashbox citation left unchallenged? If you really want to help me get it right, perhaps you could make the relevant changes yourself, so I know how to get it right in future. If you don't know the song, then check it out on YouTube.
