Talk pages

[edit]

I note you removed our comments at Talk:The Adventures of Tintin. Whilst the matter has been resolved, we tend to leave comments on the talk page to allow other people to view them. They may prove useful should the same problem arise again. See Help:Talk page for details. Beyond that, welcome to Wikipedia and happy editing! Steve block Talk 11:26, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I just didn't want to have it sitting around taking up Wikipedia's memory space. Galanskov 05:46, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Great work with the John Donne page. I notice that you are making a pretty extensive overhaul, and might I may one request: Instead of making a large number of individual edits, form your thoughts based on the current version in a word processing doc, and then add them in one large edit (or a few handfuls). This is only because the article is frequently vandalised, and it is becoming difficult to revert the bad edits, which are getting mixed in with your good edits. Thanks! An editor has nominated Chinese muslims studying overseas, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chinese muslims studying overseas and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Likewise, for your efforts in improving the John Donne article!

John Donne (again)

[edit]

Hey, at Wikipedia:Requested_pictures#Art, you asked if someone would upload an image, intended, I think, for the John Donne article. I'd be happy to upload it, if you still want it, but what's the copyright status on the original image? If you could reply on my talk page, that's be great. Thanks. Paul Haymon 22:20, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So I uploaded the image, Image:John_Donne_BBC_News.jpg. Check the copyright status that I selected, and update it if necessary. Paul Haymon 22:41, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, let me know if you need anything else. Paul Haymon 04:25, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ancient Rome

[edit]

I see that semi-protection has been placed back on, as we predicted, but only for a week. We will go through several more cycles of this nonsense, and then perhaps the semi-protection can be made semi-permanent. It's not a great burden for newcomers to register before making edits.

I am heavily engaged on another Wiki-project at the moment, but plan to return to this article in a month or so and work on the "Government", "Law" and "Technology" sections, for which I have good reference resources at home. This comment is not for the purpose of waving you away from these sections, but since we seem to be the only consistent editors of the article at this point, I wanted to let you know that help is on the way in these areas. We are making progress and I hope that this article can qualify for GA status when we are done. Simmaren 13:11, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Modifications to Property (philosophy)

[edit]

Sorry, I have to know. On the page Property (philosophy), you switched modern philosophy and mathematics in the opening sentence. Did you do this merely to disprove today's (May 25) xkcd Alt Text? Star Trek Enthusiast (talk) 22:01, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikipedia:List of sources/Ferrets, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:List of sources/Ferrets and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:List of sources/Ferrets during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion.
