MLS and USL

[edit]

Hi! Quick question. Why are you shortening the league name when editing? The general manual of style is to have it as Major League Soccer, USL Championship, or USL League One. It doesn't make sense to lessen it unless you do something like "Major League Soccer (MLS)" and then use MLS from there. We also have two USL leagues so why shorten to just USL? It wouldn't make sense factually. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 14:52, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you at least explain why? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:38, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I thought it would be better since it's known as MLS but I'll fix the ones I did if you want Legendp7 (talk) 17:41, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, there are multiple "MLS", including the one that owns www.mls.com. It's better for readers, especially those who are not familiar or new to US Soccer, to see it in full. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:58, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Squad Updates

[edit]

Information icon As much as I and the rest of the Wikipedia community appreciate the intent of your recent updates to Liga MX squad lists and players, please remember that with each update you need to provide a source in the edit summary and update the squad date. Otherwise, other editors will not know if your edits are correct and timely. Additionally, a player's international stats should not be included in the main infobox if they have not appeared for the nation, as you have done with Santiago Ormeño, who has not yet played for Peru. Declaring for a nation and even being called up by that nation does not give the player any stats. Once they have appeared for the nation, feel free to include the national team and caps/goals in the infobox along with the date of update. Anwegmann (talk) 00:11, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

June 2021

[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! Infobox stats

[edit]

Please note that we only include domestic league games in the infobox - so no Cup or Continental matches etc. Please also ensure that when you update the stats you also update the date, using ~~~~~. If you have any questions please ask. GiantSnowman 10:31, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

International stats

[edit]

We only include official FIFA games - so for Andre Blake that is 45 per NFT, not the 48 you have added. GiantSnowman 09:55, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits, while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Definitelyduke255 (talk) 04:32, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
