Help me![edit]

Please help me with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sologamy.

There's an old comment on there that's very hurtful and borderline menticidal that I thought should have all of traces of it removed, seeing as it has no merit being on the Talk Page or having any of traces of it other than to continue enforce the user's seven-year old dogma and hurt people's feelings.

If you want the article deleting, WP:AFD is the place to go. Zippybonzo | talk | contribs (she/they) 15:34, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was talking about wanting a specific comment on the Talk Page deleted, not the article itself. Lunavara (talk) 20:44, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You've already struck the comment(which I'm not sure you should have done, but I won't remove it unilaterally) which is someone giving their view as to why the article about that topic should be deleted. You wrote a WP:WALLOFTEXT- over 45,000 bytes- in response as to why it should be kept. 331dot (talk) 09:55, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, what should the proper course of action and outcome be for both my post and theirs be then, the article aside? Lunavara (talk) 01:35, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In all honesty, I don't think that a guilt trip post that tries to invalidate autorelationships such as my own with fallacy should be there at all, thus the strikethrough. I find it to be genuinely mean and hurtful. Lunavara (talk) 02:03, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing needs to be done with your post; it's just reallly long and many won't want to invest the time in reading it. WP:WALLOFTEXT is not a policy. The post at issue has been there for seven years. The user that posted it hasn't edited since making the post. It could be archived so that it at least isn't on the front-facing talk page. 331dot (talk) 08:55, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Posting the original comment was questionable, as it was to a significant extent expressing an editor's opinion about the subject of the article, but it was also a proposal that the article should be deleted, which is within the scpoe of an article's talk page. On the other hand, your incredibly long post is, as far as I can tell by skimming through it, substantially expressing your opinions about the subject of the article and objecting to the original poster having expressed opinions which you don't like. It is not about editing the article. Removing an editor's talk page post because another editor personally doesn't like it is not acceptable. You need to make a choice either to accept the fact that you will sometimes see comments that you don't like or not to edit Wikipedia. JBW (talk) 21:23, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with what you said and understand why it is that you say that "removing an editor's talk page post because another editor personally doesn't like it is not acceptable", but also agree with @331dot about how maybe the post "could be archived so that it at least isn't on the front-facing talk page". Deletion discussion about Russian youth[edit]

Hello Lunavara, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Russian youth, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Russian youth.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|FuzzyMagma}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
