Margaret Tudor

[edit]

In response to your plea I have now rescued Margaret Tudor from the barbarous half-truths, misconceptions and simple lies in which her life had been covered. Rcpaterson 03:42, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

American Gods - (un)linking Wednesday

[edit]

Well, the way I see it is that no-one reading this article is likely to be in doubt about what Wednesday is, and this article itself explains the link to Woden, which is the only relevant info a reader might not know about Wednesday. However, it's not that important. I don't want to get into a edit war about it. Colonies Chris 12:14, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Francis Bryan (DYK nom)

[edit]

Hi. I've nominated Francis Bryan, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created on November 18, where you can improve it if you see fit. — Komusou talk @ 16:40, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much! (sorry, don't know if I should be replying here?). I had actually considered nominating the article for the "Vicar of Hell" nickname, but wasn't too sure of the DYK procedure. Cheers again. Mrabbits (talk) 22:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, a DYK nutshell:
  • New article with at least 1500 signs of prose (excluding lists, tables, infobox, references) or whose prose has been expanded at least 5x, with creation or expansion less than 5 days old. Decently sourced, preferably with contextual <REF>s too. And providing a "hook" that's informational or surprising or funny, and couldn't be said of many similar articles.
  • Reading once the "Suggestions" section of DYK gives you the details. Also, you can look at the nominations at the bottom ("expired noms" and the day before) to see those who were rejected and the comments explaining why, as a "what not to do" guide of sorts.
— Komusou talk @ 15:28, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great, I'll bear that in mind. Thanks for the picture tips too. Mrabbits (talk) 22:10, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

[edit]
Updated DYK query On 24 November, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Francis Bryan, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Proposed deletion of Travis Holland

[edit]

The article Travis Holland has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not pass WP:AUTHOR.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of All the Stuff and More... for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article All the Stuff and More... is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/All the Stuff and More... until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Topher385 (talk) 23:30, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Cramond Tower.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
