Marcus Turner query

Hi, Patrick. I've answered your query about the Marcus Turner article on my talk page (I prefer to keep conversations on one page, as I lose track otherwise). Koro Neil (talk) 12:47, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

I appreciate

your cleaning up my spelling, or rather, lack of spelling, at User:WobblyWomen‎'s talk page. I wish we could sit down with a six-pack (or what ever you have in the UK) and discuss your other edit, on her (?) user page. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 16:15, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

Planxty reunion

Hi Patrick!

My name is Enricomaria. I read your interesting page on Planxty today. I was in Dublin for the Planxty reunion in 2004, a few days after the New Year's eve. However I'm pretty sure that the concet of the 4th of January was at The Point, not at Vicar's Street as you wrote. I think I still have the ticket somewhere. The problem is that the ticket, if still in existence, is at my old place in Turin, Italy, while at the moment I'm living in Stockholm, Sweden. Anyway, it's not so important and your article is absolutely great. Thanks for your contribution Enrimath (talk) 15:55, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Enrico!
Thank you for your message and kind words; they're very much appreciated!
Thank you also for the correction you're suggesting. I will look into the sources I used for the Planxty reunion dates and locations, and then update the present section later on. Normally, I would do this straight away but I am quite busy at the moment and will be for the next few days. However, please know that I will definitely aim to fix this if I can, as I am always striving to ensure there is a third-party source for everything I contribute to the encyclopaedia. Of course, if some of these 3rd-party sources are wrong, then it's going to be tricky!
I also notice that you are a brand new user and made your first edit today, and to my user page no less! So, a very warm welcome to you and I hope you will enjoy your time here, either as a reader or maybe also as a contributing editor. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if your user and/or talk pages get updated very soon with a 'Welcome' message from editors who like to take 'newbies' (= newcomers) under their wings.
But if you look at my user page, you will see that I collected a lot of links to Wikipedia articles that provide details about editorial guidelines, such as the 'Manual Of Style' (WP:MOS); you can find all these links here. May I also suggest that, if you want some help in getting started as an editor, you can ask me and I will edit a few pointers in your own user- and talk-pages. You don't *have* to do any of these things, but if you're interested and have the time, then I'll be happy to help you in your first steps. So, just let me know, OK?
Finally, although I made quite a few changes to the Planxty article (and especially to the article on Andy Irvine), one of the essential principles of our encyclopaedia is that these articles do not 'belong' to any one editor: we all contribute what we can without any article ever becoming 'mine'. In my case, I just happen to have been a Planxty (and Irvine) fan for a long time and had kept a lot of reference material (mainly my collection of folk music magazines) that proved very useful to update the articles. I am still working on the Irvine article and the next tasks will be to create related articles for some of the albums. Then, of course, we need more photos but these are very difficult to include because of the copyright rules in Wikipedia.
So, Enrico, thank you for your helpful message and I will update this section when I have done a bit more research into the topic. Until then, please keep well, and enjoy reading my user page for useful links to get you started as an editor, if you wish.
With kindest regards for now;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee. (talk) 16:50, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi again, Enrico;
I was intrigued by your earlier message and, after supper, I went into my dusty Archives Room () and checked various sources. I am *very* happy to report that you were absolutely correct: Planxty indeed played three extra gigs at the Point Theatre on 3, 4 and 5 January 2005, which I had omitted to include in both the Planxty and Andy Irvine articles! I also consulted O'Toole's book who, in the two paragraphs (on page 323) about the gigs at the Point, wrote: "The next two concerts happened on 3 and 4 January 2005." He doesn't mention 5 January 2005, but the Tara web site still has all these dates advertised to this day, and they include "5 January, 2005"; so, I will also add this date (in both articles) until someone tells me s/he knows for sure that they did *not* play on that day and that O'Toole was therefore correct (i.e., that he did not omit it in error).
Once again, Enrico, thank you *very* much for helping me to correct this oversight on my part!
With kindest regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee. (talk) 20:20, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Patrick! Thanks for the useful info about Wikipedia's editing and for confirming that I can still count on my memory :). I'll gladly have a look to your other articles. Thakns again 80.216.203.154 (talk) 08:18, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi Enrico!
You're welcome; I am grateful to you for pointing out this oversight on my part; so I owe you one!
By the way, next time you want to experiment as an editor, just sign in using your username ('Enrimath') and then let me know if you need any assistance. If I am around, the Status light will display 'Online' in green at the top right hand corner of my userpage.
Until then, please keep well and happy!
With kind regards;

Typo Team Barnstar

The Typo Team Barnstar
Saw all the corrections you made on the projects works completed page. Great job! Here's a barnstar for you! Jason Quinn (talk) 22:26, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
@Jason Quinn: Dear Jason;
Thank you! This is very kind and thoughtful of you, and I appreciate it very much.
I have been busy on non-Wiki projects of late and only logging in to carry out low-level editorial activity. But normal Typo Team service will be resumed soon. Until then, 'Spirit of Eagle' is clearly doing a phenomenal job, don't you think?
Also, I enjoyed reading your user page and it seems our editorial approaches are quite similar, even though your contributions are clearly way ahead of mine! This makes your award even more meaningful to me.
So, thank you once again for the barnstar, and for all your efforts in support of our encyclopaedia!
Please keep well and happy, Jason.
With kindest regards for now;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee. (talk) 10:20, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Happy Halloween!!!

Wilhelmina Will has given you some caramel and a candy apple! Caramel and candy-coated apples are fun Halloween treats, and promote WikiLove on Halloween. Hopefully these have made your Halloween (and the proceeding days) much sweeter. Happy Halloween!

'"On Psych, A USA Network TV series Episode 8, The Tao of Gus, Season 6, Shawn refers to pumpkins as "Halloween Apples" because he thinks all round fruits are a type of apple.

If Trick-or-treaters come your way, add {{subst:Halloween apples}} to their talkpage with a spoooooky message!
