thane maynard addition/correction/deletion
[edit]Hello. David Sroaf here. I am now a registered editor. You have indicated that my addition to the Thane Maynard entry was removed because I did not properly cite the information added to the subject page identified above. The added information was factual, drawn from just about every major news outlet in the United States and, indeed, the world AS WELL AS Mr. Maynard's own press conferences of May 28 and 30, 2016. It is true I did not add a citation to the material (I did not know that was necessary for such widely reported, factual information). But I will happily do so once you've clarified for me the nature of your decision to remove the sentence I added to Mr. Maynard's Wikipedia entry. Was the problem the lack of a citation, the use of the word "assassinate" instead of "kill", or something else? I will gladly correct any word choice or editing error or citation oversight I have made. However, my edit was factually correct. No matter how one views the tragedy, the shooting of the gorilla Harambe at the zoo which Mr. Maynard directs is as germane to his biographical information and career overview as any book he may have written. In fact, as public knowledge goes, Mr. Maynard is far more widely known because of the gorilla pen tragedy than for anything else his career has thus far yielded. Again, I just want to be certain that the sentence I added was not removed because of editorial bias, as it was indisputably a factually correct statement. I will change the wording and/or properly cite my edit once I am clear that doing so will restore the additional information to Mr. Maynard's page. Unfortunately, in biography as in life, we must take the bitter with the sweet.104.174.10.179 (talk) 22:26, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
