WikiProject

[edit]

Hi, I see you're a member of WP:WikiProject Equatorial Guinea, would you be interested in a taskforce on oral tradition? We don't really have good coverage of Central Africa at the moment and WP's coverage is really poor imo Kowal2701 (talk) 19:32, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Eleonora redirect question

[edit]

Hi @Sahaib-

I noticed that you updated the redirect of Eleonora from Eleanor to Eleanora. I would agree that the second is more closely related than the first, but there's also the distinction that Eleanora is a disambiguation page, while Eleanor is an article about the name and its variants (and mentions both other spellings). I'm relatively inexperienced with these name articles/dab pages, but my first instinct was that this should go back to the Eleanor article, versus the dab. It looks like you do a lot of work with redirects, though, so I figured I would ask here first before taking any action. Thanks! Cleancutkid (talk) 03:50, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Cleancutkid: I think both work as on the disambiguation page there is Eleonora (short story), that said most are probably looking for the name and so redirecting it to Eleanor or Eleanora (name) is probably better. Sahaib (talk) 07:10, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sahaib: Thanks for the reply! I hadn't realized that there was also a (name) page. That makes me think that perhaps it's best off as you set it up, going to the disambiguation page, so that stray incoming links can be redirected to the proper location as they occur. DYK for Fred Thomas (British politician)

[edit]

On 14 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Fred Thomas (British politician), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that before Fred Thomas became an MP, he was the Royal Marines' light heavyweight boxing champion? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Fred Thomas (British politician). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Fred Thomas (British politician)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
