Thanks for uploading Image:LadyJaneGrey-Streatham.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 09:29, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! I just noticed your work on Shakespeare-related articles and wanted to invite you to join the Shakespeare Wikiproject. It focuses on improving the quality of Shakespeare articles on wikipedia. I'm sure you'll agree there's a ways to go. If you'd like to join, just add your signature to the list of members. This will help us know who we can turn to for help on Shakespeare issues. Also on the project page you will find a to do template listing several articles needing attention, some of which you may find interest in. Please join! Wrad 17:05, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happily obliged. --Sbp 19:22, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recently we had a collaboration on the William Shakespeare article. It is nearly to WP:FA status, we have a copyeditor working on the final steps. In the near future we will probably try to get one of the play articles, probably Romeo and Juliet to GA status, just to set a standard for other play articles. I'll drop you a note whenever we start. Wrad 19:39, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm more interested in the "low priority" historical stuff, because it's been sorely neglected. I just noticed that John Shakespeare's span is given as "(1529 - c.1601). Crazy! --Sbp 19:44, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Me too. I leave the main stuff to group projects, though I try to get involved in those. I created Judith Quiney and Thomas Quiney, but haven't had a chance to expand them at all. I'm working on Sycorax (Shakespeare) and Rosaline now, two pretty low-key articles. To be honest, every Shakespeare article needs serious work right now. Wrad 21:47, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Shakespeare Wikiproject is starting another collaboration to bring Romeo and Juliet to GA status. Our last collaboration on William Shakespeare is still in progress, but in the copyedit stage. If you have strong copyedit skills, you may wish to continue the work on that article. Members with skills in other areas are now moving on. Improving Romeo and Juliet article will set a standard for all other Shakespeare plays, so we look forward to seeing everyone there. Thanks for all your help with the project. Shakespeare project - New collaboration debate

[edit]

The Shakespeare project's first collaboration has ended in success, with William Shakespeare reaching FA status! Congrats to all who chipped in! We also had success in our second collaboration Romeo and Juliet, which is now a GA. Our next step is deciding which article to collaborate on next. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Shakespeare#Next Collaboration to help us choose. Thanks. Wrad 04:10, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Shakespeare Project's new collaboration is now to bring Hamlet to GA status. Wrad 00:42, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Romeo and Juliet collaboration

[edit]

Greetings! The current Shakespeare Project Collaboration is Romeo and Juliet. This project is currently going a thorough peer review and copyedit before moving on to FAC. The link to the peer review is Wikipedia:Peer review/Romeo and Juliet/archive1. Have a look! « Diligent Terrier Bot (talk) 20:50, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is currently a discussion going on regarding the project's policy on how information on characters should be represented in articles on Shakespeare's plays. Please take part by clicking Talk:Romeo and Juliet#Character Analysis. Further context, if needed, can be found by scanning the two previous talk sections on the page as well. Status of Deletion Request for President_Obama_Re-Takes_Oath.ogg file on Commons

[edit]

What's the current status of the deletion request for the File:President_Obama_Re-Takes_Oath.ogg audio file in Commons? Inquiring minds want to know, since it's been long open since January 2009, and its now approaching the end of April with no further activity since January. Based on the reasoned votes, the consensus there is to keep the file. The audio file for the oath retake is used currently in the Inauguration of Barack Obama article that I'm working on, along with other editors, and the article is undergoing a FAC review. Phenny

I don't know how else to contact you, but I have a question about your Phenny IRC bot. Is it possible to make changes to the configuration file, such as adding new admin nicks, and have the changes take effect without restarting the bot? Furries (Talk) 21:07, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Port an Eilean Mhòir ship burial

[edit]

Hi Sean,

i´m they guy who translated the english article into german - thanks for your great work, was fun to translate :) I have seen, that you also arranged with the copyright holder to use the existing pictures. So here´s my question:

It is possible to get the picture, where Harris and Gray dig at the site, from the University of Manchester. Here´s a link, and there you can also find a contact e-mail adress: [1] Could you as a native english speaker contact the university, if it is possible to get this picture under a free license for wikipedia? I think this would be a great enrichment for the english and the german article. And i dont think, that my school english is good enough for writing with scientists or employees of an University :D So it would be really great, if you could do this. Please let me know your answer. Cheers, --Trollhead (talk) 12:32, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the translation. I'm glad you seem to be enjoying this as much as I am, and as much as the other contributors seem to be also. I've emailed the University of Leicester, and I'll let you know what they say, if they reply. I actually emailed a couple of other organisations already: AOC Archaeology, who were kind and said that Manchester are arranging the press materials; and a stock photo organisation used by one of the newspapers, who didn't reply at all. --Sbp (talk) 15:35, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks :) Let´s hope that they agree to publish the pictures under a free license. --Trollhead (talk) 16:23, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I used this on Talk:Port_an_Eilean_Mhòir_ship_burial#Renaming as part of an important discussion about article naming, as rationale for the article name. It's still being used there. I'll leave a note about this on the owner's talk page as suggested, because it seems like fair-use images being used in Talk pages for important article-relevant purposes shouldn't be flagged by the bot. --Sbp (talk) 13:30, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not only that, but even the template used on the image description links right to the talk page where it's used. --Sbp (talk) 13:35, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Best wiki-archaeologist
Thank you for the immense work done on your page Sappho’s Poems. In fact through it - I am part of it.wikiquote - I was able to standardize the numbering of fragment in "Sappho". Really a great help you have given me; I hope for you the best things.

P.S. As far as I concerned, in this page there are the last links that now was inactive. Ciao Raoli (talk) 16:00, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Sean, because of an expansion I made at your {{Roro}} the other individual templates Roro001 to Roro901 became all obsolete. They are not transcluded anymore and you can delete them, or request their deletion. I hope this is o.k. with you. sarang사랑 15:47, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
