Information icon Hello, I'm City of Silver. I noticed that you recently removed content from Right-wing politics without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to 2024 United Kingdom general election did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adam Black (talkcontribs) 17:05, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I will keep this noted! Scotlandshire44 (talk) 21:34, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This tool shows that all nine edits you've made so far today have no edit summary and in fact your first edit after acknowledging this warning yesterday did not include an edit summary. Editors are generally expected to explain all edits. Please remember to include a summary for every edit. Failing to do so makes the task of patrolling changes to an article more time consuming for other editors. Even a very short edit summary can be used, for example if you've copy edited an article you can put "ce" as the edit summary. Adam Black talkcontribs 13:05, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I'll remember next time! Scotlandshire44 (talk) 19:41, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What’s the image (flag?) on your user page, mate?

[edit]

(Me not knowing what it is)
I used all the text you had had eliminated by a.n.other after you re-wrote it for the Reform UK article, 2024 platform. I trimmed it substantially, where it seemed excessive (I wrote a lot first time around! Too much, really.) and found a lot of new supporting refs to avoid any more deletions. I can’t see what’s in the Telegraph one, although I guess that it covers more or less everything included, but I left that ref. at the end, nevertheless. All the best! @Boscaswell Thank you very much for your helpful revert & changes. I agree, you trimmed it really well. The flag is the Essex flag. My birthplace! I live in Scotland now, though. Thanks again and have a nice day Scotlandshire44 (talk) 19:04, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again! I’m not sure why you’re trimming down the Reform UK 2024 election platform as you have. Aren’t nuclear power and transgender ideology big issues in the UK? I’m planning on reinstating those bits later unless you have a major objection. I see that whole section as something which interested people can review and think about, even though the election is done and dusted, and with that in mind I think it needs to be fairly complete. All the best!
