Mass copying of articles from South African Wikipedia.

Please stop creating these articles until you have enough material to properly source them. You can create them as a draft by prefixing the name with "Draft:" and you will then have time to complete them before other users start to review them. Afrikaans Wikipedia articles - again

Please stop creating vast numbers of under sourced articles in main space. Different language Wikipedias may have different criteria for the creation of articles so the existence on one version does not mean they are appropriate in another. You should show and provide WP:reliable sources with WP:significant coverage of the subject to show they meet the appropriate WP:notability guidelines. This should be done for each article, and if you are unable to do initially, then create the article with a Draft: prefix on the name so that you can work on them until they are ready. Use the WP:AFC process to get more experienced editors to review the articles when you thin they are ready. Cronjé lived from 1907 to 1992, apparently, as per multiple Google-found sources, which I should have put in I realize now. I realize that there is some criticism of my process. I fully support improvements, added source material, edits to my articles and contributions to others, in the spirit of the wiki. I have been conveying sources faithfully from originals and have tried to avoid weasel words from same as I become more seasoned, but realize some editors from which I have translated have not been as thorough as we would like with their own footnoting. Please slow down - most of the articles you are creating are getting moved to draftspace, and will if they are not improved eventually be deleted - this just wastes everyones time. Different language Wikis have different standards about what is required for an article so wholesale copying from one to another is not a good idea. Read the various WP:notability guidelines for English Wikipedia and make sure that the article to be translated meets those criteria before creating it. Ensure that there is a WP:reliable source and that it is explicitly stated where to find it - web pages should be direct links to a page and not links to a homepage. Printed references should give page numbers where the information can be found rather than just the title of a book. If those details are not in the source article, and you cannot find them yourself, don't create the article here. noq (talk) 09:22, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tildemanana, I was checking back here to see whether you'd replied to my comment above, and I see that another review has moved all the pages I looked at to draft already. To be honest, that's probably what I would have ended up doing too. I agree with everything Noq has said above. Before you start a translation, the first thing to check is whether the subject would be notable according to our guidelines, in terms of the availability of independent, reliably published sources to establish notability. So yeah, if you see an article that doesn't have in-line references, or which are referenced only to affiliated websites, it's probably better not to do the translation as the page unless you're willing to look for additional independent sources to add in. And still you create more inappropriate articles. I have moved some sections to the top of this page to make it easier for you to see them in the sea of boilerplate messages telling you that the articles you created have been moved to draftspace or put up for deletion. As stated above, you are jsut creating work for many people and most of the articles you create are likely to end up being deleted as abandoned drafts. so please slow down, read the WP:notability guidelines for English Wikipedia and make sure that the articles you are translating fit here I would recommend that instead of creating articles in mainspace and having them moved by someone else to draftspace, you create them in draft space, follow the WP:AFC process and get them in a state that they are accepted. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.
