Please stop!

[edit]

Hi ... Please stop removing players from the MLB roster pages if they're still on the 40-man rosters. Just because they are optioned to a minor league team, doesn't mean they are no longer on the 40-man roster. Thanks. --Sanfranman59 00:08, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unproductive new article monitoring

[edit]

You have placed an A7 tag on K Ja Nu 29 seconds after it was created. Did you even read it? Please stop doing this immediately - this is an encyclopedia, not a shooting range. Please treat other users' work with respect. -- Y not? 05:44, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring removed PROD tags

[edit]

I see that you restored a PROD tag to Billz after it had been removed. A PROD is only for uncontroversial deletions. If a PROD is contested by removing the tag, then it is not uncontroversial, and the tag may not be restored. In this situation if you still wish to have the article deleted you must use either speedy deletion or an article for deletion discussion. On this occasion the article clearly satisfies speedy deletion criterion A7, but if it did not satisfy one of the speedy criteria then an AfD would have been the only possible means of deletion once the PROD had been contested. I am telling you this so you can avoid the mistake of restoring a removed PROD another time. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:12, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy tagging

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for tagging Sophie Anne Christenson just now, but after you tag a page for speedy deletion you should copy to the author's talk page the warning which is generated for you on the speedy template, towards the bottom. Otherwise the newbie author doesn't know what's happened, thinks s/he pressed the wrong button, and often just puts the article in again. Also, if it's a new contributor who has never had a Welcome message, it's useful to give one before the speedy warning - it makes it less BITEy, and gives useful links that may help him do better next time. {{subst:firstarticle|<article name>}} is a good one. Keep up the good work - New Page Patrol needs all the eyes it can get! Regards, JohnCD (talk) 11:50, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You misunderstood what was happening with that page. Wikipedia:WikiProject Dictionary of National Biography is engaged in importing articles from Wikisource to work on here. Wikisource keeps the reference material, while the article here is categorised, edited further, has other references and images added, and so on. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. April 2024

[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Stop doing these mass edits that are partial updates to the census. You're confusing between years. You failed to do any previews, you're orphaning references, and some of them need to be redone.[1]Smuckola(talk) 16:04, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am not confusing between years. I am removing old 2019 orphan references if I see them. So provide proof or stop attacking me with false allegations you asshole.

No personal attacks

[edit]

Name-calling like this is unacceptable per WP:NPA. Do not resort to petty name calling, just plainly discuss disputes at hand. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 22:52, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
