• Comment: I'm not sure how obvious it is because this file was discussed before at Wikipedia:Non-free content review/Archive 56#File:Flag of the Torres Strait Islanders.svg and Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2015 November 21#File:Flag of the Torres Strait Islanders.svg, so if it was obvious it would've been brought up during those discussions. In fact, a comment in the 2015 FFD discussion seems to suggest this is not a case for "PD-logo". -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:49, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
  • If {{pd-textlogo}} was valid, it would apply to most flags, but it doesn't. --AussieLegend (✉) 06:48, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
• Umm... still uncertain - I realize that the image was reinserted into Indigenous Australians. The copyright of flag in the US is not easy to yet determine, but it's still copyrightable in Australia. The shape looks like a wig with the star below it. As said before, retag the image to "PD-ineligible-USonly" if no one minds it. --George Ho (talk) 05:55, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
• Per [1] the "centre of the flag shows a white dhari (dancer’s headdress) and is a symbol for all Torres Strait Islanders." I do not think that component of the flag is an "obvious" simple geometric shape. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 21:25, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Uploader is claiming own work on this image of Michael Jibson. The user name of the uploader suggests that this person is Michael Jibson. However, Jibson is the subject of the photo and it is not a selfie. The EXIF data and the credit at IMDB state that the photo is by "Pip". We would need OTRS confirmation that this work is indeed freely licensed as the copyright normally rests with the photographer, and not the subject of the photo. Not that the uploader has uploaded a bunch of other photos as own work (where he is not the subjet) and have all been tagged for speedy deletion as copyright violations (by other editors, not me). Addendum - There is another version in the history which is a different photo of Jibson, but it to is also not a selfie, and so reverting to that version is not likely to resolve the issue of licensing. -- Whpq (talk) 17:27, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
