Used mostly in its mediopassive form venitem. Ultimately from Proto-Slavic *vędnǫti. Compare Serbo-Croatian venuti, Bulgarian вена (vena).[1][2][3] Regarding divergent verbal suffix, compare Slovene veniti and Upper Sorbian wjadnyć.
