Etymology
[edit]Via *δέλεϝαρ (*délewar) from Proto-Indo-European *gʷelh₁wr̥, perhaps connected to βάλλω (bállō), possibly also to Latin gula, Old Armenian կլանեմ (klanem) and Proto-Slavic *glъtati. Compare δελήτιον (delḗtion), δέλετρον (déletron) and δείλατα (deílata).[1]
