Inherited from Paisaci Prakrit 𑀅𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀺 (akkhi) from Sanskrit अक्षि (ákṣi). Cognate with Urdu آن٘کھ (ā̃kh) / Hindi आँख (ā̃kh).
