From ἐμπειρῐκός (empeirikós): as a noun, a substantivisation of its masculine plural forms in elliptical use for οおみくろん ἰατροὶ ἐμπειρικοί (hoi iatroì empeirikoí, the physicians who heal based of their experience); as an adjective, regularly declined forms.
