Glyph origin

An unorthodox variant simplified from 慍 (𥁕 → 昷) which can be found in the historical Longkan Shoujian (龍りゅう龕がん手鑑てかがみ) dictionary compiled in 997 AD.

Eventually adopted as an official form by the People's Republic of China in 1965 based on the Xin Zixing (新しん字形じけい) standardized form of characters.
