Usage notes[edit]
Though infrequently used, său is preferred to ei or lui when the possessed object belongs to the subject of the sentence. For example:
- Eu vorbesc cu prietenul lui. ― I am talking with his friend.
- El vorbește cu prietenul său. ― He is talking with his (own) friend.
