- Alternative form of shōnen
- Shonen - These are series intended mainly for boys, usually serials, in which the main theme is fighting and the transformation of the main character, usually an undistinguished boy at the beginning, into a real hero.
- 2016 August 1, Rudra, “Sagitta-senpai – Shōnen”, in Klub Miłośników Fantastyki SAGITTA[2]:
- "A genre dedicated to young boys featuring fight scenes, sporting events, crime mysteries, male friendship, robots, or love plots typical of shōjo but presented from the perspective of a male character." This is what we wrote about shonen in the first part of the glossary. It's the most popular type of manga and anime, so it's time to learn a little more about it.
- 2021 July 22, “Jakie są rodzaje i gatunki anime?”, in Wywrota[3]:
- shonen - this is the equivalent of shojo aimed at boys, usually focusing on events such as fighting or dreams coming true
