Microsoft Excel on tabelarvutussüsteem ehk tabelarvutus- ja tabeltöötlusprogramm, mis kuulub kontoritarkvara Microsoft Office koosseisu. Töötab operatsioonisüsteemis Microsoft Windows ja Apple Macintoshi arvutites.
- Tabelarvutussüsteem võimaldab kasutajal kirjeldada lihtsamaid ja keerukamaid arvutusi, andmete talletamist, säilitamist ja taasesitamist. Tabeltöötluseks kasutatavad valemid ja funktsioonid on võimalusterohked ja paindlikud.
- MS Excel on üks tuntumaid ja populaarsemaid programme, mis on mõeldud nii algajaile, iseõppijaile kui ka spetsialistidele. Spetsialistide käsutuses on ta juba programmeerimis- ja andmetöötlusvahend, mis võimaldab koostada spetsiifilisi standardtabeleid.
