George B. McClellan
George Brinton McClelland (Filadelfia, 1826ko abenduaren 3a - West Orange, New Jersey, 1885eko urriaren 29a) estatubatuar jeneral, ingeniari, idazle eta politikaria izan zen.
West Pointeko Akademian ikasi zuen eta Estatubatuar-Mexikar Gerran esku hartu zuen. 1848ko gerra amaitzean, armada utzi eta trenbideetako ingeniari izan zen.
Armadara itzuli zen Estatu Batuetako Gerra Zibila hasi zenean, Batasunaren bandoari zerbitzatzeko, eta jeneral mailara igo zuten. Zeregin garrantzitsua izan zuen ondo trebatutako eta diziplinatutako armada bat osatzen, Potomaceko Armada izenekoa.
1862ko uztailean armadaren erasoaldia zuzendu zuen hego-ekialdeko Virginian, ekialdeko lehen erasoaldi handian. Antietamgo guduan parte hartu zuen, Iparreko garaipenarekin amaitu zena.
Abraham Lincoln presidentearekin zituen harremanak mesfidatiak izan ziren eta Lincolnek kargutik kendu zuen Antietameko guduaren ondoren. Ez zuen beste armadarik zuzendu.
Alderdi Demokrataren hautagaia izan zen 1864ko hauteskunde presidentzialetan, non Lincolnen aurka galdu zuen. Ondoren, New Jerseyko gobernadorea izan zen 1878tik 1881era.
Politika utzi ondoren, idazteari ekin zion, eta Gerra Zibilean egindako lana defendatu zuen.
