Abstract

A szerző az Európai Unió 15 új vagy leendő tagállama által választott monetáris politikai rezsimeket tekinti át az 1990-es évektől napjainkig. Ezeknek az országoknak egyszerre kellett megbirkózniuk a reálgazdasági konvergencia és a dezinfláció sürgető követelményével. Felzárkózási folyamatukat a választott monetáris politika is jelentősen befolyásolja. A szerző tanulmányában azt vizsgálja, hogy a kelet-közép- és délkelet-európai feltörekvő gazdaságok monetáris stratégiái közül melyik szolgálta legmegfelelőbb módon a felkészülést az euróövezeti tagságra és ennek keretében a fokozatos dezinflációt és az árstabilitás megteremtését. Különös figyelmet szentel az inflációs célt követő rendszernek - amely nagyban meghatározta a visegrádi országok és az utóbbi években Románia, Törökország, valamint Szerbia antiinflációs politikáját -, majd panelbecslés alapján következtetéseket fogalmaz meg arra vonatkozóan, hogy az alkalmazott gazdaságpolitikai irány mennyire bizonyult sikeresnek, értékeli az árstabilitás eléréséhez vezető folyamatot a monetáris politikai és gazdasági stabilizációs lépések tükrében, röviden érintve a reálgazdasági felzárkózás kérdését is.
